CEO Mark Rigolle talks to SatNews about 2018 - a key year for LeoSat - with a number of significant milestones, including; securing investment from Hispasat, gaining FCC approval to operate LeoSat's constellation in the U.S. and getting commitments from customers and resellers totalling over 1 Billion US$.

The current perception of satellite technology used for data transport is far from positive. It suffers from high latency, provides little throughput, and is costly. For most network engineers, it's an absolute last resort when there are no other alternatives. But what if it didn't have to be that way? What if a satellite constellation were designed to the point where it provided an enterprise-grade connectivity, low latency, high throughput, and cost-effective solution anywhere in the world?

Since we don’t use bent pipe architecture, we measure latency by how many hops he client’s data must pass to its destination. We project being able to carry high-bandwidth data from New York to Tokyo with a latency of under 140ms RTT. That is faster than the fastest fiber routes today”.
